About the Artist
Laura Alatorre Kvalheim is a Latina artist born in Oakland, California. When she was four, her parents gave her a box of crayons and a “real” sketch pad. From that moment on, she knew she was an artist.
Laura studied fine art and painting at the Academy of Art, Scottsdale Artists’ School, and the Contemporary Austin. She holds degrees and certifications in Visual Communication/ UI/UX Design, Business, Product Management/Marketing, Operations Research, and Project Management and is a devout practitioner of human centered design.
Before focusing on art & consulting full time, Laura was a successful executive in FinTech. She worked with Fortune companies, early stage startups, and non-profits to advance their digital presence and connect their products and services with humans.
Her fine art is influenced by strong women artists like Georgia O’Keefe, Frida Kahlo, Kay Walkingstick, Amy Sherald, and Raven Halfmoon.
